Artisans’ Village

SUBJECT: Artisans’ Village A&S Event — seeking Demonstrators, Teachers, & Challengers

Artisans’ Village II will take place on June 3-5th in the shire of Hartshorn-dale.

The goal of Artisans’ Village is to create a friendly and supportive environment for artisans to gather together to demonstrate and practice their crafts, and for people to learn or try something new. To that end, we are looking for volunteers!

**The Villages**
The event will feature many small villages that will house one category of artisan. Each area will be organized by a village coordinator. We have several villages & coordinators lined up already and a list is available to view on our website. However,  we are always looking for more villages! If you are interested in being a village coordinator for an art or science not already on our list, e-mail Lady Elysabeth Underhill (laralu@gmail.com) with your idea. If you are interested in participating in an established village, please e-mail the coordinator of that village area as listed on the website

Current list of villages & coordinators: http://www.hartshorn-dale.org/village/village.htm

**The Challenges**
Artisans’ Village will also feature a different type of A&S competition. Instead of a general competition or display, we are asking for people to submit A&S challenges that others can take up and complete by the date of the event. Members of the populace have until March 1st to issue a challenge related to an SCA-period art or science. Anyone is welcome to submit a challenge, and all are encouraged to take up challenges. The work of those who have taken up a challenge will be displayed at the event, and time will be set aside to let Challengers and those taking up a challenge talk about the projects that have been created.

For more information about the Artisan’s Challenge and to see a list of past challenges visit:  http://www.hartshorn-dale.org/village/challenges.htm
Please submit challenges or questions about the challenge to Baroness Isabelle de Montreuil sur Mer (university@eastkingdom.org).

**Classes**
In addition to the villages and challenges, the event will also feature a track of classes. If you are interested in teaching a class, please e-mail Lady Elysabeth Underhill (laralu@gmail.com)

Thanks to the East Kingdom University for their help with and sponsorship of this event.

East Kingdom University:  Arts, Service, Martial, and More!  April 11, 2015
Hosted by the Barony of Endewearde

Hear ye!  Hear ye!  Come one, come all, to learn and expand your knowledge as the Barony of Endewearde hosts the 2015 East Kingdom University, ( EKU)

This EKU is an all encompassing university with a full list of classes ranging from Arts & Sciences to Marshall Activities to Service.

April 11, 2015 is the date to mark on your calendars.  We have a full technology high school for this event, with enough classroom for a magnitude of classes to fill everyone’s quest for knowledge.  A full class listing with descriptions will follow as the event grows near.

Come, teach and share your passion for the Arts, Services and Martial Arts of the SCA.  We are looking for educators in every aspect of the SCA.  Please contact Lady Yzabell du Perche at daysofourknights@yahoo.com to volunteer to teach at this EKU.

A dayboard will be included in the price of the event.  More information will follow as the event grows near.

The site for this university is a trade school, which offers many opportunities for our artisans that day, but also many potential hazards and expensive equipment in its classrooms.  In order to ensure the safety of everyone who attends, as well as comply with the restrictions of this site, children under 13 will not be able to take classes in much of the classroom and workshop spaces.  However, we will have a space dedicated to children’s activities and classes throughout the day so that our younger members are able to learn and be entertained during this event.  Anyone interested in teaching in the children’s classes, with special requests for classes to be offered to the children that day, or with questions about the children’s programming at this university is asked to email Baroness Isabelle de Montreuil sur Mer at eku@eastkingdom.org.

Merchants are welcome.  There is room inside to set up.  Please bring your own display items such as tables, racks, or shelves.  Contact Lady Yzabell du Perche at daysofourknights@yahoo.com with your name, shop name, what you sell and how much space you need.
